Nice view over a the Husebymaden wetland from a bird observation tower. You can also find many birds at the Huseby Bruk estate, which is a little further north.
Husebymaden is a 130 hectare reserve and wetland. In order to expand the arable land, the area was emptied of water during the 1870s. In the 1930s, they stopped using the area as farmland. Since the restoration of Husebymaden, many bird species have started to breed here and during migration many birds make a stop here. Among the birds you can encounter are geese, ducks, waders, herons, Trane, Havørn, Sivhauk, Glente, Vandrefalk, Lerkefalk, Tårnfalk, Spurvehauk and Hønsehauk.
Huseby is located between Växjö and Älmhult. At Huseby you turn, and you will automatically come across the sign fågeltorn (bird tower). From the car park it is 100 meters to the birdwatching tower. There is also a log book in the tower with the birds that have been spotted there. Wheelchair accessible, but not up the tower.
Directly north of the wetland lies the estate of Huseby Bruk that is also worth a visit. For more info see the link below.
