Description
Edssjön is a lake near Stockholm. Although there are rarely many ducks on the lake the surroundings hold many birds. The southern bay of the lake continues in a large reed area bordered by pastures. On warm early summer nights, the chances are good to hear one of the night and dusk warblers that visit the area during this time. Myrsanger is heard almost every year. Busksanger, Sumpsanger and Trostesanger are rarities that have been observed. As the night falls, many other birds begin to chime in. The call of the Gresshoppesanger is then typical. In the reeds, Rørdrum and Sivhauk nest and you have a good chance of spotting them.
Around the marsh area in the south, moist pastures spread out and here the Gulerle thrives, as well as Buskskvett. Vipe and Enkeltbekkasin nest among the tussocks.
Right next door, where the Väsbyån river crosses the railway, Fossekall usually overwinter. Between Antuna farm and the lake stands a deciduous forest. The environment is perfect for Kjernebiter, Stillits, Stjertmeis and Gulsanger.
