Description
Brannäs Våtmark is an area that contains several different ponds with varying amounts of vegetation enclosed by varying forest biotopes. In winter, there are still quite a few birds to see in the parts that don't freeze over. Enkeltbekkasin, Gjerdesmett, Rødstrupe and Vannrikse are virtually there all year round. In the forest areas there are Dvergspett and Spurveugle and the other common woodpecker species. In the spring, birds that nest in the ponds arrive: Stokkand, Knoppsvane, Krikkand, Snadderand and Vannrikse and in the reeds Rørsanger, Sivspurv and Sivsanger. During the autumn, flocks of ducks rest in the area.
Observations of the following rarities have been made over the years: Aftenfalk, Vintererle, Halsbåndfluesnapper, Pungmeis, Sørgedue, Sumpsanger and Egretthegre.
