Description

During the summer Böda is a popular beach holiday destination. Although it is good birding year round, visiting this site is most preferable outside of the holiday season for some prime time birdwatching.

Böda hamn harbours several habitats over a small area meaning you only have to walk a short distance to reach a different niche of birds. The harbour itself houses a variety of swallows and gulls. Just north of the harbour is a shallow bay home to waders like Tjeld, Sandlo and Lappspove as well as waterfowl like Gravand, Siland and Knoppsvane. Continuing north is a shallow marsh with lots of ducks like Skjeand and Snadderand. Directly beyond the marsh comes an open area with spread out bushes good for Tornskate, Møller, Gulsanger and Sanglerke. Following this road north ends at another bay which is a prime breeding location for terns and gulls. A patch of decidious forest is accessible on the road just before the harbour.
