Description
Perarrua is a small hamlet on the Esera River, in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Not much going on there except a nice restaurant (Chill-Outdoor), a church and some old houses. Behind the village, however, you can enjoy nice quiet walks and birding. You will hardly see anyone here and birding is relaxed. No real rarities or superspecies you find here, with the exception of the Åtselgribb perhaps. For a real easy walk and birding you take the road along the river to the villages of Besians (2.5 km) and if you want further through the fields to the village of Santaliestra y San Quílez (5 km). We saw most birds the first 2 km. Many Hekkspurv here. And a noisy colony of Pirol. Furthermore Tornskate, Rødhodevarsler, Bieter, Rødstrupesanger and a spectaculary low overflying Åtselgribb.

Access
The paved road becomes unpaved after about 1.5 kilometers. You can walk on all the way to the village of Santaliestra y San Quílez (5 km) where you can cross the river to the village via a suspension bridge. The route is also suitable for mountainbike, but not for car. This is not a circular walk, so you have to walk the same way back. You can park next to Restaurant Chill-Outdoor. Click on the P on the map to go there.
