Description

The area of Braña de Mumián is very well preserved and has extense livestock farming. Braña de Mumián is a part of Parque Natural de Somiedo. The European Union designated the park a Special Protection Area for birds. Among the birds you can see here are Slangeørn, Kongeørn, Vepsevåk, Åtselgribb, Gåsegribb, Murkryper and Svartspett. The surrounding Parque Natural de Somiedo is a stronghold of the Cantabrian brown bear.

Access

Highway from Pola de Somiedo to Puerto de Somiedo. Park at the Llamardal car park. Walk the path to Braña de Mumián about three km uphill.
