Rocky cape at very low altitude provides good observation point for ocean birds in their migrations and other movements.
Cape Raso is one of best spots for ocean birds in the area. Among the birds you can see from the cape are Gulnebblire (diomedea), Havlire, Havsule, Toppskarv, Steinvender, Storjo, Hettemåke, Gulbeinmåke, Svartand, Balearlire, Alke and Topplerke.
Access by car from Cascais on the road to Guincho beach. Park the car by the small road to the lighthouse. There is also a bus connecting these two places, with a stop just by the Cape.
A spotting scope makes a huge difference, as you are just standing in one place and looking out into the ocean. Best time is by sun rise and first hours of the day. Late afternoon is not a good time to go, as you are always in backlight looking towards the sun. Rare and vagrant ocean birds can be seen, particularly after storms.
