Mazowieckie  >  Poland

Big fishpond complex for what Mazowsze offers, similar to Raszyn but on the other side of the city. A lot of waterbirds breed here.

Description

During the spring many waterbirds breed in the Ruda Fishponds Grebes such as Dvergdykker, Toppdykker and Gråstrupedykker. During migration many ducks can be seen, most interesting: Stjertand, Skjeand, Snadderand, Knekkand and Krikkand, and sometimes others. Isfugl can be seen every time on the river flowing through the complex. In the reeds you can hear and see Skjeggmeis, Trostesanger, Pungmeis, Rørsanger and various other species of warblers. In the sky raptors such as Havørn, Musvåk, Spurvehauk and Hønsehauk. Various songbird species live in the nearby forest as well. During the migration plenty of shorebirds stop by. Gluttsnipe, Grønnstilk, Enkeltbekkasin, Brushane, Skogsnipe and Strandsnipe being the most common ones.
