Description

Nyksund is a tiny fishing village in the Vesterålen archipelago. Once a bustling hub for Arctic cod fishing, Nyksund was abandoned in the 1970s due to its remote location and outdated harbor. It became a ghost town, until a group of passionate creatives began restoring it in the 1980s and 90s. Every spring Krykkje come back to Nyksund to nest. Around the village you can also observe Tjeld, Ærfugl, Siland and Bergirisk.
