Description
Along the Oosterdijk north of the town of Enkhuizen lies a nice water storage area with various wading birds and water birds. Along a cycle path where you can also park your car along the road, you will pass various small pieces of nature such as meadows, marshland with a view of the lake IJsselmeer. Further on there are some reed beds. Birds that you can encounter include Svarthalespove, Hvitkinngås, Rødstilk, Tjeld, Gulerle, Heipiplerke, Grågås, Brunnakke, Toppand and Krikkand.

Nederlands: Langs de Oosterdijk ten noorden van Enkhuizen ligt een mooi waterbergingsgebied met verschillende steltlopers en watervogels. Langs een fietspad waar ook met de auto te parkeren valt langs de weg, kom je langs verschillende kleine stukjes natuur zoals weiland, moerasland met uitzicht op het IJsselmeer. Verderop nog wat rietvelden. Vogels die je kunt tegenkomen zijn onder meer Svarthalespove, Hvitkinngås, Rødstilk, Tjeld, Gulerle, Heipiplerke, Grågås, Brunnakke, Toppand en Krikkand.

Access
The Oosterdijk is located directly north of Enkhuizen. The area is best viewed from the cycle path. Parking is possible in the verge under the dike. Press P on the map for directions to the parking lot.
