A quiet pond and bird-rich area near the Wadden Sea. A good place for observing breeding Avosett, Dverglo and Tjeld.
The Klutenplas (which means 'the pond of the Avosett') is a protected flooded piece of land that attracts many birds. From a viewpoint you have a surprisingly beautiful view. Many species of birds can be seen from here.
The breeding birds are protected against foxes with electric fence. Breeding birds that can be seen here: Dverglo, Avosett, Tjeld and Vipe.
Other birds that can often be seen here: Skjestork, Strandsnipe, Brushane, Rødstilk. With a little luck you can spot Enghauk or Silkehegre.
Drive north from Westernieland; a narrow road that ends at the dike. Here you park the car (See the P on the map). It's a 30 minute walk from here.
Take a look on the other side of the dike. Many birds can often be seen here.
