The biotope of Lake Caldaro is made up of a marsh and a reeds overlooking the lake and which are the home and migratory stop for many birds.

Description

The reed bed and marsh of Biotopo Lago di Caldaro welcome an incredible variety of migratory birds every year, both in spring and autumn migration. Among the birds you can encounter are Toppdykker, Dvergdykker, Svarthalsdykker, Varsler, Vannrikse, Enkeltbekkasin, Sivhauk, Tornskate, Dvergspett, Flaggspett, Grønnspett and Svartspett.

Italiano: Il biotopo del lago di Caldaro è coposto da una palude e da un canneto che si affacciano sul lago e che sono la casa o la sosta migratoria di tantissimi uccelli. L'area del canneto e della palude accolgono ogni anno una incredibile varietà di uccelli migratori, sia nella migrazione primaverile che in quella autunnale.

Access

The best way to arrive is by the main street at the Southern part of the lake, but you can park almost everywhere around the lake and then continue on foot or with the bike. There is a bird observation tower from where you can lookout over the area. The circular route around the area is about 7 km long.

Italiano: Il metodo migliore per arrivare è dalla strada principale al lato Sud, ma si può parcheggiare ovunque lungo il lago e proseguire a piedi, o anche in bici.
