Örfirisey is a reliable spot to observe the birdlife of the Reykjavík bay. Especially in the colder times of the year. Bringing your telescope, a scan of the bay and horizon might produce birds like Havelle, Toppskarv, Havsule, Alkekonge, Harlekinand and Siland. You might also see Smålom and Islom. Örfirsey has also hosted a male Knoppsjøorre every winter since 2014, proving it as a reliable spot for this vagrant. Overhead, Snøspurv might pass, and along the rocks there might be Teist.
