Description

Grundloser See is a lake in the raised moor of nature reserve Grundloses Moor. The lake is surrounded by old peat cuttings that are being renatured. A circular hiking trail leads around the lake. There is an observation tower and there are information boards. Among the birds you can encounter are Krikkand, Sivhøne, Toppdykker, Grågås, Kanadagås, Lerkefalk, Ravn and Flaggspett.

Access

The Grundloser See is located 5 km north of the town of Walsrode. Access is from the L161 road from Walsrode to Visselhövede. The junction is between Dreikronen and Ebbingen. Then follow the gravel road to the parking lot with an information board. Click on the P in the map for directions. The circular trail around the lake is about 2,5 km.

The Weltvogelpark Walsrode (World Bird Park Walsrode) is nearby and is home to over 4,000 birds from 650 species.
