Circular trail through a former quarry, which has been converted into a nature reserve.
Grube Cox has mixed forest with lakes and ponds. Snadderand, Taffeland and Storskarv spend the winter on the lakes. Duetrost can be seen in the poplars on the edges of the lake. In the forest, with a bit of luck, there are Dvergspett , Mellomspett, Kjernebiter and Dompap.
In winter Rødvingetrost and Bjørkefink can also be seen. At night you can see Rugde, hear Kattugle call and very occasionally Hubro. During migration I saw Fiskeørn hunt, but it is rare to observe them here. From a herpetological point of view, it is also worth a visit, as you can observe sand lizards, grass snakes and common midwife toad here.
Grube Cox is located between Bergisch Gladbach and Bensberg. You can park in the surrounding residential area. The circular route shown on the map is about 2 km.
