Gravel pit with renaturalized areas, waters, reed beds and riparian forest.
In the north-eastern part of the Brandstadl gravel pit, a path leads around a U-shaped body of water. There you can see Toppdykker, Sothøne , Isfugl, Trostesanger, Rørsanger and Sivspurv. A little further south, Dverglo breeds on the bare gravel areas. Further west, there is an artificial breeding wall for Sandsvale. The path leading there continues through the alluvial forest, where you can observe some typical birds such as Svartspett and Pirol.
The Brandstadl gravel pit is a one-kilometer walk from Hallbergmoos train station, where S-Bahn line 1 stops every 20 minutes. You can also park at the train station. Click on the P in the map for directions. Within the area, there are mainly small footpaths.
