Description
At the river Ahr are breeding Dverglo and Isfugl. In the floodplains are meadows, forests and a little reedbed. In the meadows are breeding Kirkeugle (10 territories in 2020). Tornskate and Gresshoppesanger are possible breeding birds. In the forests are breeding Sørnattergal , Pirol and Mellomspett. You can also see Svartglente and Lerkefalk during breeding time. In the little reedbed are Rørsanger and Myrsanger (also common next to the Ahr). Spottesanger and Gulsanger can also be found in the area.
During migration, you can see migratory birds like Fiskeørn and Skogsnipe. In winter you can see some wintering birds like Fossekall.

Access
There is a train station in Linz (direct connections to Cologne and Koblenz), from where you have to cross the Rhine with the ferry to Kripp. Another train station is in Sinzig (direct connections to Bonn and Koblenz) from where you can go directly to the meadows at the southern edge of the area.
You can park in Kripp (follow the B9 until Kripp). The walking route you see on the map is about 7 km.
