Description

Tourbières de l'Herrétang is one of the largest peat bog complexes in the region and is recognized both as an Espace Naturel Sensible and a Natura 2000 site. You can explore the area on foot on a 3 km circular trail with bird hides and observation points. Birds you can observe include Sivhauk, Isfugl, Gråhegre, Gjøk, Tornskate, Krikkand, Gulspurv, Rørsanger, Trostesanger and Ravn.

Français: Très belles tourbières au pied du Massif de la Chartreuse. Un joli parcourt de 3 kilomètres à plat,sans aucune difficulté. Inadapté au fauteuils roulants.

Access

Tourbières de l'Herrétang are located between the villages of Saint-Laurent-du-Pont and Saint-Joseph-de-Rivière. Parking at the entrance to the site. Press P on the map for directions to the parking. From the parking you can start a 3 km circular walk. The trail is not suitable for wheelchairs. Dogs are not allowed.
