Forest birds as warblers, thrushes, tits, flycatchers, treecreepers and woodpeckers are more numerous here, and streambirds include kingfisher. Bird species: Isfugl, Svartspett, Kortklotrekryper and Stjertmeis (yearround); Fossekall(winter and early spring); and Vintererle and Bøksanger (spring and summer). For a longer stroll take a walk north along the lake for more birding and culture heritage, or continue up beyond the gorge to check the heath area (Stanghede) for Tornskate and Buskskvett.
Bring a telescope only if you want to look far out on the lake.
A playground is nearby and up the road is a nature school.

Access
Park by the restaurant Niels Bugge Kro, or by the Nature School to the north. Walk the area (the walking trail on the map is about 4 km). Some paths can be slippery in wet conditions.
