Very good birding-area in the rhine delta with a lot of different species and also rarities.
The Rhine Delta Observation Deck (Rheindelta Fußacher Bucht Beobachtungsplattform) is a great birding hotspot because in every season of the year you can observe different birds. The whole year you can see for example Storspove, Egretthegre, Sivhauk or Skjeggmeis. In the winter half-year there are a lot of water birds like Sangsvane, Krikkand or Taffeland. In the summer half-year there are Dvergrørdrum, Purpurhegre, Svartglente or Makrellterne. But the best time of the year is the period of migration with many shorebirds, flycatchers and many other migratory birds that make a stop in the area.
You can't go to the observation platform by car, but with the bike or on foot you can get there. The nearest bus stop is "Fußach Altes Postamt" Indicated with a star symbol on the map. From the busstop it is about 2,5 km to the observation platform. On the map you see a suggested walking route from the bus stop to the platform.
