Description
Only 15 km from Innsbruck, the Inzinger Gaisau is one of the last floodplains in the Inn Valley. It has ponds, woodlands, agricultural fields, wet meadows, reedbeds and borders the shores of the river Inn. This makes Inzinger Gaisau rich in habitats and therefore rich in birds.
Birds you can see here are Gråtrost, Løvsanger, Laksand, Isfugl, Skogsnipe, Gulsanger Munk, Dvergspett and both Trekryper and Kortklotrekryper and many species of tits. In winter sometimes you can encounter large flocks of Stillits, Grønnsisik, and in late winter Bjørkefink.
On the northern waters edge you have a good view on meadows and reedbeds. You can find Buskskvett here and with some luck Svartglente. On the pond you can see Dvergdykker and different kinds of ducks. Around the reedbeds check for Vannrikse, Sivspurv, Rørsanger, Trostesanger and Sivsanger.
