With cable car from Innsbruck you can very quickly reach this mountain top and see alpine birds like Fjellspurv, Alpekaie Alpejernspurv and more.
The Nordkette mountain range is located near Innsbruck. The top of 2,300m-high Mount Hafelekar can be easily reached from the center of Innsbruck. In good weather you have a beautiful view of the Inntall and the mountain peaks. So if you visit Innsbruck you have the possibility to reach an alpine environment in a few minutes. Going in eastern direction for about 1 km. Birds like Fjellspurv, Alpejernspurv, Vannpiplerke and Alpekaie are very easy to be found.
Starting at the city center you take the Hungerburgbahn from Station Congress to Station Hungerburg (there ist also a parking lot, see the P in the map). With the Nordkettenbahnen cable car you are in a few minutes at the top (about 2300m). See the link below for schedule and tickets for the cable car. There is a restaurant in the mountain station with a terrace and there are several beautiful hiking trails to various mountain peaks in the area.
