Description

Noosa Botanic Gardens comprises of eight hectares of botanical gardens on banks of Lake MacDonald with extensive paved track network. Best areas for birding are along the foreshore and around the rainforest section where Barred Cuckooshrike and other rainforest frugivores can often be found while figs are fruiting in the warmer months.

There is an extensive network of tracks to explore the gardens but the best tracks for birding are are in the southern section around the rainforest circuit and nearby track by the inlet to the shore of the SW bay of the lake.

The gardens themselves are mature and peaceful with accessible public toilets, drinking fountains & plenty of seating areas for a picnic. There is also live music on the first Sunday morning of the month. The adjoining parkland to the north has a boat ramp if you fancy launching a kayak to explore the lake futher.
