The mouth of the Hrazdan River, where it flows out of Lake Sevan, features a mix of open water, reedbeds, and wet meadows. Ideal habitats for waterbirds and waders. This dynamic zone attracts species such as Natthegre, Gråhegre, Sivhøne, and various ducks and shorebirds. During migration, the area becomes especially active with flocks of passing birds. Its easy access, beautiful lake views, and rich birdlife make it a rewarding and peaceful birding spot near Sevan.
The mouth of the Hrazdan River is located at the northwestern end of Lake Sevan, near the town of Sevan. It’s easily accessible by car or taxi via the M4 highway. You can park along nearby roads or paths close to the river. Press p on the map for directions. Public transport from Yerevan to Sevan is available by marshrutkas 270, 273, 275 from Medical University stop, followed by a short walk. The area is best explored on foot along the riverbanks and lakeshore. Allow 2–4 hours for a relaxed birding visit.
