Beschrijving
The Winsford Flashes are three shallow lakes along the course of the River Weaver that were created in 19th century as a result of ground subsidence from brine extraction. The Bottom Flash covers 90 acres, with a Marina on the north and Rilshaw Meadows in the west.
Marina attracts large number of Kokmeeuw (many with colour rings), Knobbelzwaan, Meerkoet, Grote Canadese Gans, Waterhoen, etc.
The Rilshaw Meadows is a small public park bordering the Flash and River where large number of gulls gather at all times of the year (Stormmeeuw, Zilvermeeuw, Kleine Mantelmeeuw, etc.) The little forest along the river has breeding Grote Bonte Specht, Winterkoning, Roodborst and other woodland species).

Winsford Bottom Flash is located in Winsford. Park at the free car parks at the Marina or at the Rilshaw Meadows (click P on the map for directions). The area is also accessible from Winsford town.
