Beschrijving

This area has the largest reedbed in Cornwall, whilst there is access to Marazion Marsh by a footpath EXTREME CAUTION is needed due to possible disturbance of birds, there is good overviews of the area on surrounding roads, a telescope is a big advantage. As well as the marshland, the seaward side should not be ignored, the beach from St Michael's Mount Westward to Penzance is the best place in the county to see Drieteenstrandloper, sometimes reaching three figure numbers on autumn migration and double figures in winter, the bay is also known for rarer gulls as well as Divers/Grebes and Seaducks. The marsh is known for Roerdomp, Rietzanger, Kleine Karekiet and the occasional Waterrietzanger is a possibility. Marazion Marsh has one of the biggest Spreeuw 'murmurations' in West Cornwall during Autumn/Winter.
