Middleton-in-Teesdale is a market town in County Durham. The settlement is surrounded by the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Spring offers a great opportunity of seeing a range of birds, including woodland specialists (Bonte Vliegenvanger Gekraagde Roodstaart), moorland specialists and bird of upland rivers such as Korhoen, Oeverloper and Waterspreeuw. Among the other birds you can encounter are Beflijster, Grote Gele Kwikstaart, Sijs and Veldleeuwerik.
