Istanbul  >  Turkey

An interesting route in the heart of city of Istanbul. Seabirds are attracted to the port even with intense human activity. Worth a detour!

Beschrijving

Kadıkoy Bay is not a special birding area that you have to go, but worth to visit if you are in Kadıköy. The breakwater (mendirek) lays from the Kadıköy to Harem and it attracts many Kuifaalscholver. It is one of the biggest breeding colonies in the region. You can observe the nests from a close distance. Additionally cormorants, herons, coots and gulls hang around the breakwater and inner of the port. Many suprises are possible especially in winter.
