The area consists of an alluvial forest with gravel banks, mountain meadows and pastures with bushes and hedges. In addition, the Reuss flows through the area.

Beschrijving

Species such as Kleine Barmsijs, Roodmus, Bosrietzanger, Tuinfluiter, Kramsvogel, Grauwe Vliegenvanger or Draaihals can be observed in the floodplain forest . On the gravel banks along the Reuss there are Oeverloper, Waterspreeuw and Grote Gele Kwikstaart. The following species can be observed in the pastures and meadows: Waterpieper, Boompieper, Tapuit, Slangenarend, Wespendief, Paapje, Witwangfluiteend, Grauwe Klauwier.

The floodplain area is located between the villages of Hospental and Realp. You can explore the area on foot. A circular walk around the area is about 3 km.
