Beschrijving

Torslandaviken is located at the mouth of the Göta Älv River. It is an old bay where watercourses which flow into the sea form an estuary. In this place where sweet and saltwater meet, optimal conditions arise for many birds. As the city of Gothenburg has grown, the Port of Gothenburg dredged and expanded and oil refineries established, almost all natural conditions for extensive biodiversity in the river or estuary have decreased. Torslandaviken is therefore a last functioning remnant of the Göta Älv Estuarium. Some of the nice birds you can see here are Eider, Wilde Zwaan, Strandleeuwerik, Brilduiker, Grote Zaagbek, Middelste Zaagbek, Bontbekplevier, Bosruiter and Kemphaan.
