Lake Lagårdssjön in Strömsholm is ranked as one of the best birding sites in Västmanland. From a nice platform (that is handicapped accessible) you have a good view over the wetland. Especially in the spring, the lake is well visited by ducks, geese and waders. A spotting scope is a must. Among the birds you can encounter are Bosruiter, Kleine Plevier, Zeearend, Grauwe Gans, Slobeend, Zwarte Stern, Kraanvogel, Boomvalk, Watersnip, Visarend and many more, see the birdlist below.
