The Urdaibai Bird Center is a museum dedicated to bird migration and the biodiversity of the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve. It also has a large interior observatory, equipped with telescopes, to be able to observe the birds of the marsh. It is located about 500 meters from the Orueta lagoon, facilitating bird watching. It also has an observatory tower of 18 meters high.

También dispone de un gran observatorio interior, equipado con telescopios, para poder observar las aves de la marisma. Está situado a unos 500 metros dela laguna de Orueta, facilitando el avistamiento de las aves. También dispone de un observatorio torre de 18 metros de altura.

The Urdaibai Bird Center is located 4 km north of the town of Gernica. If you come in your own vehicle, there are a couple of car parks near the center where you can park. Click on a P in the map to get directions. If you come by public transport you have several options. The first is the 3513 bus that leaves from Bilbao (1h10-minute ride) or Gernika (10-minute ride) and passes by the center. The other option is by train. You can get off at Gernika station and combine with the bus. Or you can get off at the Forua stop and go for a walk along the footbridge next to the marshes (50-minute walk). Entrance fee to the Urdaibai Bird Center is € 7 for adults (2024). Note: Opening times vary throughout the year, so check the website before visiting! See the link below.

Espagnol: Si vienes en vehículo propio, en las cercanías del centro hay un par de aparcamientos donde dejarlo. Si vienes en transporte público tienes varias opciones. La primera el autobús 3513 que sale de Bilbao (1h10 minutos de trayecto) o Gernika (10 minutos de trayecto) y pasa junto al centro. La segunda el tren. Puedes bajarte en la estación de Gernika y combinar con el autobús. O puedes bajarte en el apeadero de Forua e ir dando un paseo por la pasarela junto a las marismas (50 minutos de trayecto).
