The Soto Gutiérrez is a small area of agrarian landscapes where in the months prior to spring you can see large concentrations of Kievit and other waders. And there is a small wetland that attracts many birds. A great place for birdwatching. Among the bird species that can be observed in the area are Zomertaling, Rode Patrijs, Kuifkoekoek, Moorse Nachtzwaluw, Purperkoet, Griel, Woudaap, Oehoe, Steltkluut and Rode Wouw. You can go reach the area by car and train (Ciempozuelos train station). By car you have to take the M-307 road that joins Ciempozuelos with San Martín de la Vega and deviate to the right at kilometer 6. Click on the P in the map to get directions. The suggested circular walking route you see on the Birdingplaces-map below starts at Ciempozuelos train station and is about 9 km. With car you can park further along the route and the route is shorter.
