The setting of this site is incredible; from the promenade of the Western-like village of El Rocio you overlook a lush lagoon (if the lagoon holds water, if not, this site is not interesting). You may see all interesting species of the park at this lagoon. On a regular day the lagoon is littered with Flamingo and the vegetation in and around the lake hold Ralreiger, Purperkoet and Woudaap. Lastly Vorkstaartplevier is another attraction here. At dusk, red- and fallow deer graze on the opposite side of the water.

In summer, this area does not always hold water (when I visited in the summer of 2018 it did however). Maker sure to check this beforehand though.
