Probably the easiest spot on Tenerife to watch the local subspecies of Blauwe Vink.
Las Lajas is a recreational area, sparsly covered with the canary pine. Low hills ascends to the north-eastern direction. The place is a hotspot for Blauwe Vink, which is most easily seen when it comes to a small artificial pond, carved out from a pine stump. The birds are not tame but neither very shy, so they will visit the pond if you keep some distance (10-15 meters, 30-50 feet). Sometimes they come closer. You can also see (or hear) Rotsduif, Grote Bonte Specht , Canarische Tjiftjaf, Tenerifegoudhaan and Raaf.
The location is accessible either by public transport, No 342 stops nearby, or by car. It is also possible to go there by bike, but the elevation is quite steep and the road (shared by cars) is sometimes narrow. Parking is available. Click on the P in the map to get directions.
