The Lagunas de Cantalejo is a protected Natura 2000 wetland. The area, covering 108 km², has numerous ponds and wetlands, as well as a section of the Cega River, nestled within a vast pine forest. The vegetation of the area is mainly pine forests, which leave numerous clearings occupied by waterlogged pastures. On the shores of the ponds there is an abundance of aquatic vegetation composed mainly of reeds and water rushes. The water level of the lagoons may vary. Best not to visit the area in summer. Among the birds you can encounter are Dodaars, Slobeend, Zomertaling, Kleine Plevier, Kleine Zilverreiger, Steltkluut, Grote Karekiet, Bruine Kiekendief, Rode Wouw, Bijeneter, Hop, Blauwe Ekster, Roodkopklauwier, Rotsmus, Zwarte Roodstaart, Boomleeuwerik and Bergfluiter.

Sus 108 km² cuentan con numerosas charcas y humedales, así como un tramo del río Cega, que atraviesa un extenso pinar. La vegetación consiste principalmente en pinares, con numerosos claros de pastizales encharcados. En las orillas de las charcas abunda la vegetación acuática compuesta principalmente por carrizos y juncos. El nivel del agua de las lagunas puede variar. No es recomendable visitar la zona en verano. The Lagunas de Cantalejo are located 50 km north of Segovia, just west of the village of Cantalejo. From the village follow the signs to the "Ermita de Pilar." Park next to the Ermita de Pilar. Press P on the map for directions to the parking spot. The walking route indicated on the map is about 14 km, but you can easily shorten the route or only walk part of it.

Español: Las Lagunas de Cantalejo se encuentran a 50 km al norte de Segovia, justo al oeste de Cantalejo. Desde el pueblo, las indicaciones llevan a la Ermita del Pilar, en donde se puede aparcar (Pulse P en el mapa para obtener indicaciones para llegar al aparcamiento). La ruta a pie indicada en el mapa es de unos 14 km, pero se puede acortar fácilmente o recorrer sólo una parte.
