Beschrijving
The Belchite steppes are one of the steppe areas best known to bird watchers due to the emblematic steppe bird species which live here. The El Planeron reserve is essential for its diversity of species and for protecting the rare Duponts Leeuwerik. One of the larges populations in the whole of Europe is found here. But you can also see species such as Kortteenleeuwerik, Blonde Tapuit, Zwartbuikzandhoen or Griel. During the winter season, you can see large wintering flocks of species such as Witbuikzandhoen, Kalanderleeuwerik or Kleine Kortteenleeuwerik. Birds of prey, such as the Steenarend, Grauwe Kiekendief, Blauwe Kiekendief and Bruine Kiekendief and Steenuil are also found.
