Cabo Peñas is a beautiful and accessible place with steep cliffs and beautiful views. A path takes you to the Peñas lighthouse (with a small museum), the northernmost point of Asturias. Wonderful to wander around here. Due to the presence of threatened nesting seabirds such as Stormvogeltje or Kuifaalscholver, and to ensure the long-term protection and management of bird species and their habitats, since 2003 it has been partially included in the European list of Special Protection Areas for Birds. It is also a place where you can spot dolphins all year round!

You can access the cape from Avilés by the AS-238 Regional to Luanco. From Gijón by the Regional AS-19, to El Otero, and then by the Regional AS-239 to Luanco. You can choose to approach the Cabo on foot thanks to The Senda del Cabo Peñas (PR-AS-25), well signposted, that runs through this coastal area, very close to the edge of the sea.
