Bay where you can observe Geelpootmeeuw and by the rocks Regenwulp. In the desert area inland you can observe Barbarijse Patrijs.
Bajo Negro is located near several biotopes. The first one is the sea. At sea here you will find Geelpootmeeuw and rarely Kleine Mantelmeeuw. If you are lucky, also Jan-van-gent or Kuhls Pijlstormvogel. Another setting is the beach. You can easily see Drieteenstrandloper. If you continue further, you will reach the dunes. In the desert area inland the Barbarijse Patrijs is found, Kleine Kortteenleeuwerik and Berthelots Pieper.
The location is walkable. The advantage is that it is located right next to a hotel, where you can park, and where there are sometimes Canarische Roodborsttapuit. Click on the P in the map for directions.
During a visit or two in November 2021 I saw Griel, Iberische Klapekster, Brilgrasmus in the desert area and on the beach Lepelaar, Rosse Grutto, Strandplevier, Zilverplevier as well as other mentioned species. The north end of Corralejo is worth exploring too. Woestijnvink quite common here.
Hello Dave, congratulations on a beautiful observation. I have seen some of the species you mentioned, such as Rosse Grutto or Lepelaar in Corralejo. But I didn't come across Griel here at all. However, I was only here for 10 days in February 2022 and I know I didn't see a lot of species (like the Westelijke Kraagtrap that was reported here). Someone even saw a Jan-van-gent here. Thank you for your response. Michal.
