Bo-Langvlei has an enormous variety of spectacular bird species such as Crested Eagle, African Fish-eagle, Black-collared Barbet, African Harrier-Hawk, Malachite Kingfisher, Knysna Turaco, Giant Kingfisher, Pin-tailed Whydah, Southern Red Bishop, Pied Kingfisher, Amethyst Sunbird and Klaas's Cuckoo. The Brownhooded Kingfisher walking trail starts within walking distance of the hide. It is not only very beautiful, but also offers an immediate opportunity for other special species such as Black-backed Puffback.

Toegang

From the N2 between Wildernis and Sedgefield, take the exit "die vleie/the lakes". Keep left at the first fork, the asphalting ends here. The next fork to the right. After about a kilometer you will see the sign for the hide on your right. There aren't really any parking spaces, but the road is wide enough to park on the verge. You will find the start of the Brownhooded kingfisher Trail if you do not turn left where you came from on the way back, but continue on the same road for about 500 meters.
