Beschrijving

Labudovo Okno is the place where the agricultural plain of Deliblato meets the Danube river near the Romanian - Serbian border. Because of the building of Djerdap Dam, Danube has flooded surrounding Stevan’s Plains (Serbian: Stevanove ravnice) and made perfect habitat for gathering of birds. Here you can see all kinds of waterfowl species, mainly at winter time. Tafeleend, Kuifeend, Brilduiker, Topper and Kuifduiker are regular species that gather at winter time. There are also quite many geese that gather here, mainly Grauwe Gans and Kolgans.

During spring migration there are few species of gulls and terns, some other birds like Hop, Zeearend, Meerkoet, Wilde Eend and Pijlstaart. During fall migration there are many small birds migrating through here, species like Noordse Kwikstaart, Spotvogel, Rietzanger, Kleine Karekiet and Grauwe Vliegenvanger. Also there are migrating raptors like Visarend and Wespendief.
