Hălceni lake and Miletin swamp is formed by a flooded area in spring and autumn due to the abundant rainfall and an accumulation lake used as a source of drinking water for the neighboring localities. If the swamp gathers thousands of specimens and tens of shorebird species during the migration, the lake sustains during the winter several thousand ducks and geese.

The most important city in the region is Iasi and from here you can reach by car on the county road in about 1 hour. In the village of Halceni you can park the car on the side of the road and from there the route can be traveled on foot or by bicycle.
