The Salinas do Ramalhete is a quiet area where you can see different aquatic species, especially a wide variety of waders. You can easily see Flamingo, Bergeend, Bonte Strandloper, Tureluur, Gele Kwikstaart, Dwergstern, Steltkluut and Kluut among others.

The salt flats can be accessed in two ways. The first is to park the car in the Praia de Faro parking lot and use the road that runs along the airport fence that will take you directly there, to get to this road you must go to the roundabout behind the parking lot and take the exit in the opposite direction to the beach. The second way is to go to the beginning of Rua Henriques Fernandes Serrao next to the airport, where you must go in the direction of the treatment plant to cross a small wooden bridge that leads to a path that borders the airport and leads directly to the salt flats.

Português: As salinas podem ser acessadas de duas maneiras. A primeira é estacionar o carro no parque de estacionamento da Praia de Faro e utilizar a estrada que percorre a vedação do aeroporto que o levará diretamente até lá, para chegar a esta estrada deve dirigir-se à rotunda atrás do parque de estacionamento e sair na saída na direção oposta à praia. A segunda forma é ir até ao início da Rua Henriques Fernandes Serrão junto ao aeroporto, onde deve seguir em direcção à estação de tratamento para atravessar uma pequena ponte de madeira que conduz a um caminho que margeia o aeroporto e leva directamente ao salinas.
