The transition between the river and the sea attracts a variety of species, including birds such as the Kleine Zilverreiger, Kluut, Kokmeeuw and Aalscholver. During migration periods, it is possible to spot passing species, making this location particularly interesting for birdwatching throughout the year. The surrounding landscape and proximity to Ericeira make the experience even more special.

The mouth of the Lizandro River, is located south of the town of Ericeira. The site is accessible by car, with parking available near Foz do Lizandro Beach. Press P on the map for directions to the parking. The best way to explore the area is by walking along the trails near the estuary, dunes, and salt marshes, which offer great birdwatching opportunities. It is also possible to cycle through the area, enjoying the coastal scenery and rich biodiversity.
