The Divor reservoir and its surroundings are great for bird watching. Much of the area is underexplored. The main observation point on the north side is the dam, which allows observing the waters of the reservoir. But as this dam is quite busy with sportsmen and fishermen, the disturbance can be high, so the number of birds present is not always high. So it is also good to explore the other side of the reservoir. On the lake and around the margins you can see ducks, grebes, Flamingo, herons and waders lake Oeverloper and Groenpootruiter.
In the surrounding areas many birds can be seen. For example Cirlgors, Grauwe Gors, Kuifkoekoek, Bijeneter, Hop, Iberische Klapekster, Thekla's Leeuwerik, Kuifleeuwerik, Veldleeuwerik, Graszanger, Orpheusspotvogel and Kleine Zwartkop. Also many birds of prey can be seen flying over the area. In summer you have a good chance on Zwarte Wouw, Dwergarend and Vale Gier. In winter Blauwe Kiekendief, Rode Wouw and Grijze Wouw. All year round you can see Buizerd, Bruine Kiekendief and Torenvalk. Grauwe Kiekendief can bee seen mostly in August.

The area is located 20 km north of Évora. You can access the area by the network of municipal roads connecting Évora to Arraiolos and Vimieiro. On foot you can access also the small paths that run along the banks of the reservoir and explore the more quiet parts.
