Sosenki is a relatively small area in the Sanok town, being partially covered in pine trees (for which the Polish name derives from). The main areas of interest here, putting aside nearby San River banks, are: pine tree park, two fishing ponds, surrounded by mixed shrubbery and trees, and also a fen - with its own nature/educational trail. The fen is a part of the PLB180003 "Góry Słonne" Natura 2000 area. It's mainly known for species of water-dependant birds, but also some woodland species and many birds of prey, having their territories there and nearby. Some species of water-dependant birds that can be found here in nesting season are: Wilde Eend, Wintertaling, Knobbelzwaan, Dodaars, Waterral, Waterhoen, Meerkoet, Kievit, Kleine Plevier, Watersnip, Oeverloper, Zwarte Ooievaar, Blauwe Reiger, Grote Zilverreiger, IJsvogel, Buidelmees, Rietzanger, Kleine Karekiet, Grote Karekiet, Gele Kwikstaart, Witte Kwikstaart and Rietgors.
Many other water-dependant species can be met during migration or during winter, especially if the surface of ponds isn't covered with ice, like: Zomertaling, Slobeend, Krakeend, Smient, Pijlstaart, Tafeleend, Witoogeend, Kuifeend, Brilduiker, Nonnetje, Grote Zaagbek, Fuut, Porseleinhoen, Kemphaan, Bokje, Witgat, Zwarte Ruiter, Groenpootruiter, Bosruiter, Tureluur, Kokmeeuw, Stormmeeuw, Pontische Meeuw, Visdief, Parelduiker, Roodkeelduiker, Aalscholver, Woudaap, Kwak, Snor and Grote Gele Kwikstaart. Some birds of prey that can be found here in nesting season: Wespendief, Schreeuwarend, Steenarend, Bruine Kiekendief, Sperwer, Havik, Zeearend, Buizerd, Bosuil, Ransuil, Torenvalk and Boomvalk. Migrating/wintering species: Visarend, Blauwe Kiekendief, Grauwe Kiekendief, Zwarte Wouw, Ruigpootbuizerd, Roodpootvalk and Slechtvalk.
Forest/park and shrubbery is also home to many woodland species, such as: Houtduif, Koekoek, Grote Bonte Specht, Kleine Bonte Specht, Grijskopspecht, Groene Specht, Zwarte Specht, Wielewaal, Gaai, Raaf, Zwarte Mees, Glanskop, Matkop, Pimpelmees, Koolmees, Spotvogel, Tjiftjaf, Fitis, Staartmees, Zwartkop, Braamsluiper, Goudhaan, Boomklever, Taigaboomkruiper, Boomkruiper, Winterkoning, Spreeuw, Grote Lijster, Zanglijster, Merel, Grauwe Vliegenvanger, Roodborst, Vink, Appelvink, Groenling, Putter. Some, like Goudvink and Sijs can be met here only during migration/winter. Other species, more related to fen and open habitats in general are: Kwartel, Fazant, Kwartelkoning, Ooievaar, Grauwe Klauwier, Ekster, Bonte Kraai, Veldleeuwerik, Sprinkhaanzanger, Grasmus and Geelgors.
