Beschrijving

Park Sołacki was designed as an English style city park with old trees, ponds, walking paths and benches. During the weekends the park is full of families and kids but... the park is full of birds too. It is very easy to get there by bus, tram or bike. A circular walk will take you about half an hour only. If you are visiting Poznan for business or as a tourist it is a nice place for some relaxed birding. You will see mostly common birds like Wilde Eend, Bonte Kraai Waterhoen, Merel , etc but also a chance on birds like Sijs, Zwartkop, Kramsvogel, Grote Bonte Specht and Mandarijneend.

In winter, when the surrounding reservoirs are frozen (e.g. in January 2024), there is a good chance of observing numerous Aalscholver and Grote Zaagbek .

Toegang

IIf you will arrive by car you will find the parking places on the streets next to the Park Sołacki, but using public transportation is much more clever. The best way to expolre the park is just walk around the ponds.
