Lake Kierskie is especially interesting in the autumn and winter. Ducks, geese, grebes and loons etc. stop here regularly in pretty good amount. In winter, up to 3,000 gulls spend the night here - mainly: Kokmeeuw, Zilvermeeuw, Pontische Meeuw, Stormmeeuw and also a single: Zwartkopmeeuw, Grote Mantelmeeuw, Kleine Mantelmeeuw. Quite rare waterfowl for inland are regularly observed, such as: Topper, Grote Zee-eend, Zwarte Zee-eend, Kuifduiker, Roodkeelduiker and Parelduiker. The lake is a feeding ground for Zeearend. Geese spend the night on the reservoir, mainly: Grauwe Gans but also northern geese.
