The Jezioro Dominickie lake is of importance for many birds. This 384 hectare reservoir is connected by a system of canals with other nearby lakes. Geese (with a predominance of Grauwe Gans), Meerkoet and various species of ducks (including Zwarte Zee-eend and Grote Zee-eend), as well as Roodkeelduiker and Parelduiker, Fuut, Geoorde Fuut, Kuifduiker and Nonnetje winter in great numbers. Of the birds of prey, it is not uncommon to see Zeearend, sometimes Slechtvalk.

Observations are best made from the southern side of the lake (also due to sunlight). An unpaved pedestrian and bicycle path runs along the lake shore.
