The vicinity of the reservoir is a breeding ground for many bird species. The dam crown has been made available for pedestrians and cyclists, creating a "walking part" connecting Goczałkowice-Zdrój with Zabrzeg, thanks to which the area of the Goczałkowice reservoir has become a recreational place. Among the birds you can see are Pontische Meeuw, Kokmeeuw, Grote Zaagbek, Grote Karekiet, Geelgors, Zeearend, Kwak, Grote Zilverreiger, Kievit, Kraanvogel, Aalscholver and Visdief.
